– Síndrome de Weil Online (Weil Syndrome)

¨A leptospirose é uma zoonose com mais de 250 sorotipos patogênicos, com grande distribuição mundial, constituindo-se em doença negligenciada, e com repercussões graves, o que a torna importante problema de saúde pública. As suas manifestações clínicas possuem amplo espectro, desde síndrome febril, autolimitada, até formas graves e potencialmente fatais, como a síndrome de Weil, em que predominam icterícia, disfunção renal e hemorragias. A forma ictérica da leptospirose, descrita como síndrome de Weil, ocorre em 5-10% dos casos e em curto intervalo de tempo, cerca de quatro a nove dias, evolui com hemorragias e disfunção renal potencialmente fatais, mesmo com recursos terapêuticos intensivos. A síndrome de Weil representa uma manifestação rara, de alta gravidade e evolução potencialmente fatal, com necessidade de reconhecimento e tratamento precoces, reforçando a importância da avaliação clínica e alta suspeição perante as dificuldades laboratoriais ainda vigentes no diagnóstico da leptospirose¨.
