Câncer Hepatocelular (Hepatocelular carcinoma) 2023

 

– O carcinoma hepatocelular (CHC) é a forma mais comum de câncer hepático primário, a terceira causa de morte de etiologia neoplásica e um dos tipos de câncer mais letais no mundo.

– É um tumor maligno que geralmente aparece em pacientes cirróticos e está mais comumente associado à hepatite B, hepatite C e alcoolismo crônico. Mais recentemente, a obesidade tem sido reconhecida como um importante fator de risco para diversos tipos de câncer, inclusive o de fígado.

–  O diagnóstico é efetuado através de tomografia computadorizada de abdome com contraste endovenoso, e a ressonância magnética pode auxiliar nos casos que não possam ser definidos pela tomografia.

– Quando diagnosticado em seus estágios iniciais, o carcinoma hepatocelular é potencialmente curável. O único tratamento potencialmente curativo para o carcinoma hepatocelular é a ressecção do tumor, seja ela realizada através de hepatectomia parcial ou de transplante. Infelizmente, apenas cerca de 15% dos carcinomas hepatocelulares são passíveis de tratamento cirúrgico.
