– Entenda como é a medicina no Brasil na opinião de um médico estrangeiro

O Brasil é medalhista no número de escolas médicas e possui a medalha de prata, com 196 escolas em atividade. De acordo com o médico cirurgião sérvio Velibor Kosti, ao despertar o seu interesse em se especializar em cirurgia plástica, lhe foram indicados dois países: Estados Unidos e Brasil.

– Segundo ele, a cirurgia plástica no Brasil ficou conhecida e respeitada após um episódio que ficou conhecido no mundo todo.

– Em 17 de dezembro de 1961, com a colaboração dos médicos residentes, o cirurgião Ivo Pitanguy pôde tratar de forma abrangente as vítimas do grande incêndio do Gran Circus Norte-Americano em Niterói.

– Na tragédia, 372 mortes foram imediatas e, nos dias seguintes, o número de vítimas fatais chegou a 500, sendo 70% delas crianças. O total de feridos chegou a 2 mil e 500 pessoas entre os 3 mil espectadores. O acontecimento despertou a atenção de todos para importância social da cirurgia plástica, numa época em que a cirurgia reparadora e mais ainda a estética eram consideradas desprezíveis pela comunidade médica.

– “Ivo ficou conhecido no mundo todo após esse caso do circo. Ele tratou inúmeras pessoas com queimaduras seríssimas e isso fez com que as pessoas enxergassem a cirurgia plástica de uma outra forma. Foi por causa disso que eu decidi vir para o Brasil”, disse.

– A inauguração da Clínica Ivo Pitanguy em 1962, e sua integração com a 38ª Enfermaria da Santa Casa permitiu estruturar a formação profissional e de ensino. A clínica tornou-se um centro de referência nacional e internacional da especialidade, tendo sido frequentada por cerca de 5 mil cirurgiões plásticos, entre fellows e visitantes.

Segundo o cirurgião, para os médicos que vêm de fora, o Brasil é um país com boas escolas e oportunidades de especializações nas mais diversas especialidades

– “Para atuar como médico no Brasil é necessário passar pelos processos de revalidação de diploma, é preciso conseguir o CRM e seguir na especialidade que se deseja. Então, como médico que veio de outro país, eu recomendo o Brasil”, finalizou.

– “Ivo became known around the world after this circus case. He treated countless people with very serious burns and that made people see plastic surgery in a different light. It was because of this that I decided to come to Brazil,” he said.

– The inauguration of the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic in 1962, and its integration with the 38th Infirmary of Santa Casa, made it possible to structure professional training and teaching. The clinic has become a national and international reference center for the specialty, having been attended by around 5,000 plastic surgeons, including fellows and visitors.

According to the surgeon, for doctors who come from abroad, Brazil is a country with good schools and opportunities for specializations in the most diverse specialties.

– “To work as a doctor in Brazil, it is necessary to go through the diploma revalidation processes, it is necessary to obtain the CRM and continue in the desired specialty. So, as a doctor who came from another country, I recommend Brazil”, he concluded.
