– A hemoptise é o sangramento proveniente das vias aéreas inferiores, cujas apresentações mais comuns são tosse com eliminação de sangue ou saída de secreção pulmonar com sangue.
– Essa manifestação sempre requer investigação, ainda que a quantidade de sangue eliminada seja pequena.
– Em relação ao volume de sangue eliminado, as hemoptises podem ser classificadas como leves, moderadas ou maciças/graves. Considera-se hemoptise leve quando a eliminação de sangue é menor que 100 mL em 24 h; moderada, quando o volume de sangue eliminado estiver entre 100 e 600 mL em 24 h; e maciça ou grave, se o volume de sangue eliminado for maior que 600 mL em 24 h ou acima de 30 mL/h
